Opportunity has been a word in short supply for many small to medium businesses in recent years. But 2014, seen by some as a ‘turning point’ for the UK economy, has provided such businesses with just this; opportunity.

‘Thinking bigger’ refers to organisations’ aspiration for growth, but it also encapsulates an attitude held by businesses to think beyond the confines of everyday business and focus on new and innovative ways to approach old challenges.

However, in a shift in strategy, small businesses have substituted their reliance on finance for innovation in an attempt to drive further growth. In order to achieve greater efficiencies, businesses must look to become more productive with increasingly limited resources at their disposal.

This can only be achieved by looking beyond the boundaries of conventional thinking and seeking to embrace new and original practices.

Nevertheless, driving innovation across the business is a significant challenge in itself, one which relies on the careful selection and implementation of technology.
